Ethernet Switch Configuration
MAC Address Table Configuration
The MAC address table records MAC addresses, interfaces, and the associated VLAN information. When the device forwards packets, it consults the MAC table.
LLDP Configuration
LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol) is a data link layer protocol that allows network devices to advertise their identity, capabilities, and neighbor relationships within the local subnet. LLDP operates at the data link layer and is independent of network layer protocols, thus supporting multiple network layer protocols.
Ethernet Link Aggregation Configuration
Link Aggregation combines multiple physical links into one logical link to increase bandwidth, achieve traffic load balancing, and improve link reliability. Link aggregation has two modes static aggregation and dynamic aggregation.
VLAN Configuration
Ethernet is a data network communication technology based on CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Detection), which utilizes a shared communication medium. When the number of hosts increases, it can lead to severe issues like collisions, broadcast storms, performance degradation, and even network unavailability.
STP Configuration
The Spanning Tree Protocol is a Layer 2 management protocol. It eliminates Layer 2 loops by selectively blocking redundant links in the network and also has the function of link backup.
Loopback Detection Configuration
Loopback Detection is a Layer 2 network protection mechanism used to promptly detect and handle loops in the network. Network loops can cause broadcast, multicast, and unknown unicast packets to be sent repeatedly, resulting in waste of network resources or even network paralysis.
